Dynamic Data Centre and Private Cloud

Within this area, we are concerned with technologies and techniques that allow infrastructure to be built without the traditional rigidity and complexity that has constrained operational efficiency and responsiveness to change over the years. In specific terms, we look at various forms of virtualisation, dynamic workload management (a.k.a. 'private cloud') and emerging ideas around service delivery 'patterns'.

In parallel with the above, we are also investigating how user preferences can be better incorporated into IT related decision making, with a view to enhancing user satisfaction and business efficiency. The aim here is to reduce the perceived need for employees to make their own technology arrangements, which in turn promotes harmony and minimises complexity-related cost and risk.
